Indoor Ascents was founded by Carson Bull and David Urbaniak, inspired by countless car rides to climbing crags and ski days in the Pacific Northwest. Our conversations kept returning to the same questions: How can we make climbing safer for new climbers? How can we support data-driven training? And how can we empower the entire climbing ecosystem through better access and use of climbing related data?
Our backgrounds span product strategy, operations, and platform leadership, combined with deep technical expertise in developing and scaling software systems. Outside of work, we’re rooted in the climbing community — from the mountains to the gyms, and through outdoor volunteerism and advocacy.
Out of those shared ideas — and a deep love for helping people feel safe and connected in the outdoors — Indoor Ascents was born.
